Walter Cherubini, a sports reporter for the Parma daily *La Provincia*, is threatened with dismissal by the newspaper’s publisher—who is also the team’s majority shareholder—following his report of a doping case involving a player on the local rugby team. After being reassigned to the crime desk, his perseverance—despite his lack of experience in the field—will help the police solve several cases.
